Now that's a long flight! 15.5hrs on a bird. Worth sending it on an upgrade.
The WeLaze laser from gravotech was a nightmare for a while because the yeti AUS computer died. So we had to pivot to using my computer and it turns out it wasn't exactly plug and play. Spent a lot of time with the IT guys in Melbourne and then on the phone with IT from the guys in Sydney. By the middle of Margarets river the machine was cruising and cutting great. It was unfortunate that we did not understand the operation as dialed as the epilogs. We made some progress but it would have been nice to know the operating software before touching down in AUS.
Working with Ash was super enjoyable and she is a great human. Would love to see her stateside to see how we operate up here. Greg Cleveland also is a phenomenal human. Truly enjoyed the time down there and the opportunity to assist them with Bells Beach.
We come from a land down under! Where the waves are plentiful, the pies are always warm and the beers never go flat. WSL Bells Beach was the jump off for the WSL 2026 CT. Dan and I were given the opportunity to assist Ash Kohlman from Yeti ANZ on activating for Bells Beach. Laser engraving names on custom branded 26oz ramblers and 10oz ramblers.
We flew down and were right into it on day one getting the Booth set up. The kit was a built out shipping container that required a little bit of clean up after its time on the road through the Bush. However set up was a breeze and the main task at hand was curating the product that we were displaying on site. All of the Drinkware was being sold in the merch tent so we displayed those graphics and cup options as well.
The Booth's location was killer and our second story deck had a great view of Bell's and a peekaboo view of Winki's.
All of the AUS employees are fantastic people and truly easy to work with. The comp was given a rough go on conditions. They were able to run the comp in the Bell's Bowl 2 days while the rest of the competition was held at Winkipops.
We utilized YETI ANZ new WeLaze laser and once we got it up and running the operation went smooth and quick.
